Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men
– Colossians 3:23

In 2011, he graduated from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity.
In 1989, Andy was licensed to preach by Northeast Baptist Church in Ponca City, OK. In June of 1991, at the age of 21, Andy was called to his first church, the First Baptist Church of Helena, OK. Over the last 30 years Andy has also pastored churches in Blackwell and Hobart, Oklahoma, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Topeka, Kansas.
Andy enjoys hunting and fishing, as well as working in his yard and garden. He loves playing with his dog Ezra, but His greatest joys come while spending time with his family. Andy likes good movies, novels, playing around on the piano, and putting together puzzles.
He has been married to his wife, Dustie, for 28 years. She is a Speech Pathologist at OSU Medical Center in Tulsa. Carissa New
Carissa had the blessing of growing up as a preacher’s kid and in a home that introduced the Bible and the need for Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age. She accepted Christ at the age of five and then surrendered to missions/ministry at the age of 12. Carissa continued to grow in the Lord and be involved in church through her junior high, high school and college days.
In September of 2001, Carissa had the opportunity to work for the Special School District in St. Louis, MO. While at the SSD she was trained as an Applied Behavior Analysis Therapist working with children with autism. In September of 2002, she had the opportunity to move to Bermuda to work with a family with three autistic children. While in Bermuda she met her husband Graeme, and they were married December 6, 2003. They are blessed with two children; Zoe age 13, and Jackson age 10.
Graeme and Carissa began attending Riverview in April of 2004. Carissa was still waiting on God to reveal to her, her calling in ministry. When she was asked to be the preschool director in 2009, she knew that it was what God had called her to do. During her 5 years of preschool ministry God continued to shape her passion and give her a vision for a children’s ministry at Riverview. She was hired as the Children’s Minister in September of 2014.
Carissa has a passion to see children come to the saving power of Jesus Christ. She believes that it is the church’s job to partner, support, and encourage parents to disciple their children toward a lasting relationship with Him.

Shawn Sloan
It is my privilege to have the opportunity to directly serve God while I’m at work. I began working here in 2001. I assist the pastoral staff, and I also enjoy making publications and meeting the needs of church members.
My hometown is Glenpool, OK. I am married, and we have three grown children and are also blessed with three grandchildren. We are church members at Glenpool First Baptist. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren, camping, gardening, and taking walks. I enjoy praise and worship music. Some of my favorite music artists are Mercy Me, Hillsong, Natalie Grant, and Chris Tomlin.
My favorite food is Mexican. I love tacos. I am known to be a “matter of fact person.” I like to plan ahead and be organized. I enjoy encouraging people, too.
I desire more than ever to not only KNOW God’s purpose for me but also to boldly walk in that purpose. Grace says I can.
And all the world will praise God’s Great Name.
